Greater Springfield is a master-planned community between Brisbane and Ipswich that’s getting rave reviews for the scope of its ambition and the delivery of its goals.

Greater Springfield is a master-planned community between Brisbane and Ipswich that’s getting rave reviews for the scope of its ambition and the delivery of its goals.

The brainchild of Maha Sinnathamby, Greater Springfield is a multi-award winning $32 billion development that has been more than 20 years in the making.  It is Australia’s first private city, our largest master-planned community and the tenth largest master-planned community in the world.

With its smart combination of commercial and residential development, Greater Springfield ticks every box for the key indicators we think are essential for optimum returns on your investment.

•    Population Growth
The population of South East Queensland is the fastest growing in Australia and Greater Springfield in Ipswich has one of the fastest growing populations in South-east Queensland.

•    Jobs
Springfield has been explicitly planned to attract industries that have been identified as growth areas for the future and which also employ large numbers of people.

The Health City includes a massive Mater Hospital and a recently announced 1 billion dollar retirement community. Health is one of the fastest growing industries in Australia, and a huge employer, which means jobs for your prospective tenants.

The Technology City with its cutting-edge facilities is already home to businesses such as The Polaris Data Centre widely regarded as Australia’s leading, most modern, highly secure, purpose-built, Tier 3+ data centre. Companies are moving to Springfield because the infrastructure has been built so it’s ready for high-tech industries.

•    Education
The third designated employment hub in Springfield is Education City. With 14 education providers ranging from childcare to a university already in place, it currently services 8,500 students. Education options are strong for prospective tenants, while the sector is also a big employer.

•    Transport
Springfield is 29km from the Brisbane CBD and directly connected by the Springfield train line with stops at Greater Springfield and Springfield Lakes. The journey into Brisbane takes 38 minutes, while the Gold Coast can be reached in less than an hour by car.

•    Shops
Residents of Springfield won’t really ever have to leave it, though. They can work there, study there, and also get everything they need from the shops at the Orion Springfield Centre., where there are fashion outlets, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and an Event Cinema. The recently announced Redbank Plains Super Centre adds to the plethora of shopping options.

Some people are dubbing Springfield the Parramatta of Brisbane. The difference, however, is that the residential communities are planned with the modern Australian lifestyle in mind. Over 25,000 people are living in Greater Springfield and the population is projected to reach over 150,000 in the next 15 years.

There are a number of excellent residential estates planned for Greater Springfield, many of which we will be covering in the coming months. But this month’s featured properties are in Springfield Lakes, with its attractive waterside setting.  Four bedroom, 2 bathroom, double garage houses are priced from $470,000 - $510,000 with an expected rent of $440 - $480 per week.

The location combines fantastic access to facilities with strong natural appeal.
